Bag No.1 is a collaboration between Zoë Melo, Alyson Fox and Lula Mena artisans in El Salvador. The design was inspired by Zoë's travels, where a practical and stylish bag is always along for the journey.

Alyson Fox is an American artist and designer known for her beautiful pattern work that can be found in collections from H&M to West Elm and Chronicle books. Lula Mena works with low income and at risk communities in El Salvador, empowering women, to produce unique, eco-friendly, handmade and Fair Trade designs. 

The bag was an immediate success catching the eyes of curator and buyer of Dwell Magazine online store which asked for exclusivity for this first Alyson Fox edition. It was first launched at their Pop up store during Dwell on Design conference in Los Angeles on June of 2014. The bag is sold through Dwell online store as well as TOUCH store. 

Our idea for this project is to invite other artists to design the pattern for next editions, so we can  continue collaborating with Lula Mena Studio and artisans in El Salvador.
